Dental Implants

A dental implant is a screw-like surgical component that is placed in the bone of the jaw or skull to support the replacement of a missing tooth or teeth, or facial prosthesis or to act as an attachment for orthodontic movement.
The implant fixture is first placed and there is a usually a wait period to allow the jawbone to grow around and fuse with the implant., A dental crown or bridge is added to the implant with it is deemed well solid in the jawbone. The wait period for fusion of the implant is variable from jawbone site and from patient to patient: before, a tooth, bridge or denture can be attached to the fused implant
