Children's Dentistry in Mount Airy, MD

Gentle, patient care for our youngest patients — building healthy habits and positive dental experiences from the very first visit.

We see children alongside the rest of the family, which is the point — the same office, the same faces, often the same appointment slot as a parent. Children are much less anxious in a place they already know.

Early visits are mostly about counting teeth, a gentle clean, and letting a child find out that nothing bad happens here. The dental work matters, but the habit and the lack of fear matter more, and they last longer.

As they get older we watch how the adult teeth are coming through, apply fluoride and sealants where they help, and flag anything that might need orthodontic attention later. Parents are welcome to stay in the room throughout.

Pediatric Dentistry — common questions

When should my child first see a dentist?

Around the first birthday, or when the first teeth appear. That first visit is short and mostly introductory.

My child is frightened of the dentist. What then?

Tell us before the appointment. We slow down, explain everything as we go, and let them look at instruments before we use them. Nobody is held down or rushed.

Do you take children on our family's insurance?

We work with most major plans and our front office will check your coverage before the visit. Call 301-829-2220 and Kris or Cindy will take care of it.
